Fun on the Ferry

(February 6)

Today we went to ride the ferry that connects Galvestone Island to Bolivar Peninsula. We love riding the ferry, this is something you can do for FREE!! You drive your car onto the ferry and then you can get out and walk about.

You can go up stairs and look down onto the ocean and cars. There are always families of dolphins swimming around.

At the back of the boat you can feed the seagulls. They know that they can get a good meal if they follow the boat. They come in huge packs, as you can see in the following pictures, and they have no fear of coming really close to you. The seagulls will even eat out of your hand when you hold up a piece of bread or cracker. Here is a video where Brisa is holding a cracker in the air and a seagull snatches the cracker out of her hand.

Beautiful Brisa

This is my mother-in-law, she spent 10 days with us. She enjoyed the ferry as well. She was surprised at just how many seagulls chased the ferry. She was worried about getting bird poop in her hair.
