A Fun Day With Our Neighbors and BYU 110th Ward

Today we woke up and did not know what we were going to do. We spoke to our neighbors, The Nicolle's, and asked them what they wanted to do. We decided that we would go to Macey's and buy some pumpkins; we also went to Macey's because we both needed to go grocery shopping so it all worked out perfectly :) We weren't able to take pictures of us at Macey's although it would have been fun to have taken pictures at a grocery store. Who would have thought that that would be something to take pictures of. Well we each bought a pumpkin, they were only .12 cents a pound, SO cheap. We got home and started looking for designs on the internet. It took Kody about 2 hours to find one that he liked. I decided to carve a picture of a scary tree, I thought it turned out great.
My beautiful scary tree. I thought it turned out awesome.
Me and my pumpkin.
Brisa didn't do any carving, obviously Brisa and sharp utensils don't mix, but she chose this character, named Foofa. Foofa is a new character on a show on Nick Jr. It's an interesting show, if you watch it you'll ask yourself "what were these people on when they thought of this?" It is a weird show with weird looking characters but Brisa LOVES the show.
Kody had a tall pumpkin and it took him 2 hours to find something that would look proportional on his pumpkin. He also couldn't find something that he wanted and finally chose Jack from The Nightmare Before Christmas. He has never seen the movie but he still chose his face. His pumpkin turned out awesome and he was very proud of it too.
Tyler had too much fun with his pumpkin, you will find out what he did at the end of this blog.
Chrstie decided to go with a happy pumpkin which turned out looking really cute.

Brisa loves Allie, they love to play together and they get along so well. They both dressed up as princesses. Christie made Allie's bottom with tulle. Several of the sisters made their own tutu bottoms, they are really easy to make. I want to make Brisa one, all the little girls looked adorable with their tutu's.
We had a ward Halloween party today, as well, and the girls were having so much fun.
Kody dressed up as a TCU player, BYU's worst nightmare. TCU beat BYU a few weeks ago, I think, when BYU was 6-0. This caused BYU to not be considered for the BCS. This is what happens when we don't have money for regular costumes. My costume is a witches hat, I didn't really dress up.
All the men here were trying to be the first ones to eat a powdered donut off of a string and then be the first one to whistle. This was hilarious to watch because they kept moving the main string, that all the donuts were tied to, up and down so it made this game really difficult.
Now it's the women's turn to eat the donuts. There were many off us who couldn't whistle so we just had to say "woo woo." This was so much fun.
It's hard to eat a powdered donut under pressure.
Here we're playing musical numbers. Basically, you walk around in a circle with numbers on the floor. Then you stop on the closest number near you when the music stops. Then a number is called and if you are standing on that number you win a prize. It was so much fun because the prizes were things that we actually needed, like light bulbs, toilet paper, dish scrubbers, detergent, all purpose cleaner, and more.
Kody won a cupcake and I won Fantastic, all purpose cleaner. You should have heard how loud Kody and I cheered. We really needed this. I am currently running really low on 409 all purpose cleaner and that stuff is a bit pricey and this was something that was totally exciting to win. I think it is so funny to see how excited we got to win some cleaner. We had another couple get excited about winning a dish scrubber with a plastic handle that hold dish soap. They had said that they had broken theirs that week and were going to buy a new one. Another couple won toilet paper and had said that they were going to go to the store and buy toilet paper that night because they were down to one roll. It's funny how things work out and how every prize was something that we really wanted and needed. This was a fun night.
Brisa is holding our Grand Prize.
For those of you who are parents the following pictures should not need explanation. But for those of you who are not I will explain. The following pictures are attempts of a group picture of all of the kids in the ward. Let me just tell you, it is impossible to get a group picture of children. Small children can not sit longer than 1 second and the older children get grumpy about the spot they are in or because of what other children are doing around them which causes them to make sad faces, like Brisa. I still decided to put all of these pictures up in hopes that somebody would see something good looking in each one.
Did anyone find anything nice? LOL :)
This is David Gardner, it you've been in the BYU 110th ward then you know what I mean. David scared the little children. He would start with his head laying down and when a kid walked up he would lift his head and wiggle his fingers while saying "OOOOhhhh" Brisa refused to go anywhere near this car. Although, seeing the children all freaked out was hilarious. Poor David, he was cramped in the car, his legs were all over the front seat and on the head rests. I must congratulate David for being so creative.

Here are some pictures of more friendlier Trunk or Treat neighbors. Enjoy.
Here's our car, look at our pumpkins. They looked cool, we had the candles lit up inside them but you can't tell because of the flash on the camera.
Picture of the back of our car without flash. Pretty cool, huh?
This is me with my daughter, Brisa, and my awesome neighbor, Chrstie, and her daughter, Allie. We had so much fun this day.
Kody and his troublesome neighbor, Tyler.
The two most adorable little girls.
So we decided to put our pumpkins in front of our stairwell. Tyler's pumpkin was put on the opposite side of our because....
as you can see, it's puking. Like I said earlier; Tyler had too much fun designing his pumpkin.
TADA! Beautiful.

I hope you enjoyed these pictures. We had an awesome day today and will miss our cool neighbors in January.
