Hee Haw Farms

Yesterday we went to Hee Haw Farms in Pleasant Grove. We went with Liz Crowly and her daughter, Naomi, and with Chrstie Nicolle and her daughter, Allison. Brisa had loads of fun especially since we went with two other little girls, it's not as fun with just mommy and daddy. Here are a lot of pictures, I was camera happy.

This is Leroy, the pig. I think he's the farm mascot because there were several things named after him, like Leroy's grub shack, where you buy your food and there were several food items named after him too. Here you see Brisa and Kody looking at the little piglets. Kody hand fed one of them and got bitten by him so we didn't allow Brisa to feed the pigs but she enjoyed petting them and hearing them squeal.
Brisa has always loved taking care of smaller children. She held Allison and Naomi's hand while we walked around. She really wants a sibling.
At Hee Haws they have a tractor that pulls several barrels that are painted like animals. The other two moms rode with their daughters but Brisa told me that she wanted to ride by herself. She is getting to be independent. At home she'll tell me to go away when she wants to be alone or when she doesn't want me hanging around with her and her other friends. Last night we spent the night at my in laws and she was watching a movie with her cousin in a room and when I went to check on them Brisa said "Mom, go away." She's acting like a teenager.
These next few pictures are of the girls on the Hay Jump. It's basically a pile of hay, with a big mat in the middle that acts like a trampoline, that allows the kids to bounce. They had loads on fun on this attraction. They didn't want to move on to the other games in the courtyard.
Here are a few pictures of the girls as animals, you don't have any idea how hard it was to get them to all look at the camera and smile at the same time.

There were 3 big slides at Hee Haw farms. This first one was the 30 foot haystack slide. This one was a popular slide. Brisa raced Christie and Allison down the slide and lost every time because she was so light. She kept running back to the line to go again, the height of the slide never intimidated her.

The next 2 slides were a tube slide and a rolling pin slide. The tube slide scarred Brisa at first but Kody shoved her down the slide so that she could experience it before she decided it was scary. She did cry a bit but then liked it and went back to try again. She had no problem trying the rolling pin slide because it wasn't dark.
This year Hee Haws had a petting farm. There were several animals that Brisa got to pet and she was finally not afraid to try and touch some animals this year. She pet the baby cow, some piglets, some goats, and she tried to pet a duck but he was pecking people, she also tried to pet the chickens but they kept running away.
These goats were inside a little farm house, two of these goats were asleep and didn't get woken up when the children touched them. They were very nice, it seemed like they were used to children touching them.

These next two pictures are of Brisa on the Trick or Treat hay ride. We rode on a trailer and passed people dressed up in Halloween costumes and they threw candy onto the tractor and the children had to collect the candy. Brisa has been asking everyday to go trick or treating and today she got a chance to get some candy even though she didn't say trick or treat. Now she keeps asking to go back on the "truck" and get candy.

I love this next picture. I'm sure you've all heard of snow angels in the winter but have you ever heard of corn angels? This is the corn box, it is filled with corn kernels. The kids love to go in and make piles of corn kernels or just throw them outside the corn box. I think I'm going to have a corn box for my kids because sand boxes are way too messy, this is really easy to clean up.
Here are the girls inside the corn snake. It is a small path, almost like a maze but with only one path, where the walls are made of corn stalks. The corn stalks cover up the top so it seems like they are going through a tunnel.
Pony Rides!! Once again, Brisa requested, before I even decided to ask her, that she wanted to ride the pony by herself and that she didn't want me to walk next to her. She has been wanting to do things on her own, like washing dishes and cooking. It's too soon! She's still supposed to be relying on me. She is growing up so fast.

Well those are all the pictures. Brisa had a wonderful nap on the way home. She was exhausted after this. We spent about 3 hours at Hee Haw farms and it was just not enough for her. We didn't even do the corn maze, we plan on going again on Saturday so I'll be posting again by next week. I'll let you know how long it takes her to get through the maze. Hope you've enjoyed the show.
