At the Beach

For those of you who have not heard we have moved to League City, Texas. League City is 25 miles south East of Houston and 25 miles North West of Galveston. I have a job as a high school math teacher at Clear Creek High School. I love my job, it's been fun teaching the students and not having a professor analyze every word I say and analyze the way I've set up my classroom. I am currently teaching 5 Geometry classes and 1 Algebra 2 class. I'll give you more information about this when I have pictures of my school. What I do have pictures of is of our new apartment.
This is the kitchen, I love all the counter space and cupboard space I have. It's huge compared to what I had at Wymount.
From the kitchen you can see the dinning area, which is currently storing some of our boxes and our air mattress since we don't have a bed yet.In the living room, which is right next to the kitchen, there is a TV nook which fits our entertainment center just perfectly. Now all we need is a bigger TV, our TV looks so small and out of place. Here is a picture of me on our lovely sofa, donated to us by my parents. In front of me is the entertainment center.
This gorgeous picture is of my huge walk-in closet. Kody and I actually have our own sections and there are 4 different levels to hang clothes from, 2 for Kody and 2 for ME! We also have plenty of room for storage. Something that we did not have at Wymount. Our bathroom has 2 vanities. I took the biggest one, but that meant that I had to share with Brisa. I'm sure you can tell, Brisa's yellow stool stand in front of the sink, so she can brush her teeth, and her fish are in the corner.Across my vanity is Kody's vanity, his is smaller. He likes it because he has a small medicine cabinet where all of his things fit perfectly. And next, on the left, of Kody's vanity is some more storage space. I have so much storage space and not much to fill it with. That means that I have to go shopping! I don't know if any of you noticed, but Kody put his U of U trash can in here, I'll have to get rid of it soon. And this is a picture of our shower and through those double doors is the washer and dryer.
That's all for the apartment pictures.

I wanted to show everyone the beautiful Galveston beach. We wanted to take Brisa out to know the real beach. Before this visit, Brisa's definition of "Beach" was the Seven Peaks water park in Provo, UT. She wanted to wear a bathing suit and didn't understand why she had to wear jeans and a jacket. The temperature on this day was a gorgeous 60 degrees and it was slightly windy. I know the people in Texas thought we were crazy for being at the beach while this cold. When we got to the beach we quickly saw all of the sea shells, Brisa picked these for her brand new fish we bought her the day before. She had loads of fun doing this. She collected the sea shells in a paint bucket that we bought an hour before at Wal-Mart. We weren't able to buy a bucket and shovel, apparently they only sell those during the summer. You'd think that they would sell beach supplies here in Houston where you can still have 80 degree weather in the winter.
After picking sea shells we decided that we would build a sand castle. The sand was slightly hard to get, we had to dig to get the sand to fill our buckets. After building our sand castle we decided to take a family picture. This is usually really hard and impossible when you don't have another person there to take the picture for you, but luckily we have a tri-pod and were finally able to take a family picture.Well, the sand castle didn't last too long. After the family picture Brisa and I decided that we would destroy our castle by stomping on it. This was so much fun!
We had fun at the beach, we finally had to leave because it started to rain. We tried to get all the sand off of our clothes but that is impossible. Our dryer had sand in the lint collector, it was hard to clean. I'm going to have to find a different way to get rid of the sand before taking the clothes in the house, if you have any suggestions please let me know.

Okay, so Kody is making me make this one comment. When we were on our way to Galveston we passed by a cemetery and we noticed that you can smell all of the dead people. You could only smell the cemetery while you were right in front of it. Kody thought that this would be something funny for all of you to read.

It looks like you had a great time at the beach. We just got back from San Diego. It was an awesome break from Utah snow!

Your apartment is great! I'm feeling very jealous right now. Your closet is as big as our apartment and don't even talk to me about your washer and dryer! :)
